What this site collects

The eligibility checker, cost calculator and document checklist run in your browser; your answers stay there. Analytics only notes that a tool was used.

The "Help with your DTV?" request form asks for your name, a phone number or messenger handle, and, if you like, a few words about your situation. When you send it, the request passes through this site's server to a Telegram chat read by our manager, together with the address of the page you sent it from. Telegram stores messages on its own servers. We use the request only to reply to you and never ask for passport scans or bank statements in a first message.

Analytics and cookies

We run Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, and Yandex Metrica with its Session Replay feature. Both set cookies and record which pages you open, where the visit came from, your device and browser, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Session Replay also records scrolling and clicks. We look at this only in aggregate, to see which parts of the guide are read and which are skipped.

Google processes Analytics data on its own servers, which may be in the United States. Yandex Metrica is operated by Yandex LLC and processes data in Russia.

Your choice

If your browser is set to a time zone in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, nothing is loaded until you press "Accept" in the notice at the bottom of the page. Everyone else sees the same notice and can press "Decline" to switch both counters off. The choice is stored in your browser; clear the site data to be asked again.

Hosting

The hosting provider that serves these pages keeps technical request logs (IP address, time, browser) to keep the site running.
